This policy explains what data Japan Whisky Press (“we”) collects when you visit japanwhiskypress.com, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Analytics data. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles are read and how people arrive. This includes approximate location (country/region level), device and browser type, pages viewed, and referring site. We do not collect names or email addresses through analytics.
- Advertising data. Third-party ad networks and their partners may set cookies or similar technologies to measure and personalise advertising.
- Affiliate tracking. Retailer affiliate programmes set a cookie when you click through, so the retailer can attribute a purchase to us. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from these retailers.
- Contact messages. If you email us, we hold what you send us for as long as needed to deal with it.
Consent
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, through a Google-certified consent management platform. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time using the cookie settings link in the site footer.
Your rights
EEA / UK (GDPR). You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Contact us to exercise any of these.
California (CCPA/CPRA). You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood; advertising partners may share data for personalised advertising, and you can opt out through the consent settings or your browser’s privacy controls.
Third-party services
The services we use, and their own privacy policies, include Google (Analytics and advertising), our advertising partner, our affiliate partners, our content delivery network, and our hosting provider. Their policies govern the data they collect.
Data retention
Analytics data is retained according to the retention setting in Google Analytics. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is needed.
Children
This site covers alcoholic drinks and is not intended for anyone below the legal drinking age in their country. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
